Short version (DRAFT — pending legal review; not yet in force)
- The Kidbys beta is invite-only and runs through Apple TestFlight. It is unfinished software and things will break.
- No real money moves. There are no purchases, sales, bids, shipping or payouts. Sparks are free, simulated test units with no value.
- Your data and your child's art are stored on a dedicated server and storage in the EU. The beta is separate from the future live service and its data may be wiped.
- In this beta, art can be uploaded privately but cannot be published until our identity-verification step is available.
- Your feedback helps us. By sending it, you let us use it to improve Kidbys.
- You can leave at any time and ask us to delete your data: [email protected].

These Beta Test Terms apply to anyone invited to test Kidbys before its public launch (the "Beta"). They add to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, which also apply. If these Beta Test Terms conflict with those documents, these Beta Test Terms win for the Beta.
1. Who can take part
- The Beta is by invitation only. You cannot sign yourself up. Kidbys creates your adult account from an invitation list and gives you a sign-in privately.
- You must be 18 or over. Testers may be invited from the United States, Europe and Russia.
- If you are invited as an Agent (parent or guardian), you may create a private child profile for your own child, subject to the same authority and consent statements as in our Parental Consent & Agent Verification statement.
- Please change the password we gave you after first sign-in, and use the password-reset link if you lose it.

3. Simulated Sparks
Kidbys gives each tester a number of free test Sparks (Agents receive test Sparks for Goals and for gallery Sparks; Collectors receive them for gallery Sparks). Test Sparks:
- are simulated units with no monetary value;
- cannot be bought, sold, transferred outside the Beta, redeemed or exchanged for anything;
- will not carry over to the live service.
Any Piggy Bank balance or Goal reward shown in the Beta is a test figure only. See our Sparks & Virtual Items Terms.
4. Beta participant privacy notice
4.1 What we collect
The same categories as in our Privacy Policy and Children's Privacy Notice, limited to what the Beta uses: your email, display name, role and country; your sign-in sessions and device data; child profile display names; private artwork uploads; simulated Sparks and Goals; moderation records; and feedback you send. We do not collect payment details, identity documents or liveness video in this Beta.
4.2 Where it is stored
- The Beta runs on a dedicated server operated for Kidbys in the EU by our hosting provider (Contabo), with a separate private EU storage bucket for media and a separate encrypted EU storage bucket for backups. CONFIRM DATA CENTRE LOCATION AND CONTABO DATA PROCESSING TERMS
- Emails (such as password resets) are sent through our email provider (Resend).
- Uploads are scanned for malware on the Beta server itself.
- The Beta is kept separate from Kidbys' future production systems. Beta data will not be moved into the live service.
4.3 How media links work
When you view art in the app, the app fetches it through a short-lived signed link that expires after a few minutes. While a link is valid, anyone who has that exact link could open the image. Please do not copy or share image links from the app. Original uploads are never public.
4.4 Apple TestFlight
Apple provides TestFlight under its own terms and privacy policy. When you test through TestFlight, Apple may share with Kidbys your name and email (as used for the invitation), device and app-version information, crash reports, and any screenshots and comments you choose to send through TestFlight's feedback tool.
4.5 Product analytics and feedback
Optional feedback you send through the app is recorded only with your consent and kept for up to 365 days. Basic product events, if collected, are pseudonymous and kept for 180 days. You can switch analytics off in Profile > Privacy & Data.
4.6 How long we keep Beta data
We keep Beta data for the duration of the Beta and review it regularly. When the Beta ends, we will delete or anonymise Beta data within BETA DATA DELETION PERIOD AFTER BETA ENDS, except for records we must keep by law. We may reset the Beta database, including your account, child profiles, uploads, Sparks and Goals, at any time, and will try to warn you first.
4.7 Your rights
You can download, correct or delete your data from Profile > Privacy & Data, or email [email protected]. If you are an Agent and want to leave, transfer or delete your child profiles first, or ask us to delete everything for you.
5. Feedback
We would love to hear what works and what does not. If you send us feedback, ideas or bug reports, you grant Kidbys a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, irrevocable licence to use them for any purpose, without any obligation to you. Please do not include your child's personal information or other people's information in feedback.
6. Confidentiality
The Beta is not public. Please do not publish screenshots, recordings or descriptions of unreleased features, or share your sign-in, without our permission. This does not stop you from talking to your family about your own child's use, or from reporting a safety concern to anyone.
7. No warranty, no liability for beta defects
The Beta is provided "as is" for testing. It may contain bugs, lose data, be unavailable, or change without notice. To the extent the law allows, Kidbys is not liable for any loss arising from your use of the Beta. Keep your own copies of any artwork you upload. Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
8. Ending the Beta
You can stop testing at any time by deleting the app, and ask us to delete your data. We may end the Beta, or your participation, at any time. Sections 3, 5, 6 and 7 continue after the Beta ends.
