DRAFT — pending legal reviewVersion 0.1-draftLast updated 2026-10-01

Short version (DRAFT — pending legal review; not yet in force)

  • We want every child artist, parent and collector to be able to use Kidbys, whatever their abilities.
  • We are working towards WCAG 2.2 Level AA for our website and web app, and the equivalent platform guidelines for our iOS and Android app.
  • Kidbys is still in beta and has not yet had an independent accessibility audit. Some parts may not work well with assistive technology yet.
  • Tell us about any barrier at [email protected] and we'll help, and fix it.

Effective date: EFFECTIVE DATE

1. Our commitment

LEGAL ENTITY NAME ("Kidbys") is committed to making Kidbys accessible to people with disabilities, including children who use the Artist area with a parent's help. Accessibility is part of our release criteria: we do not consider a feature ready for public launch until accessibility, age-appropriate wording and reduced-motion checks pass.

2. Standards we aim for

  • Website and web app: Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA.
  • Mobile app: WCAG 2.2 Level AA as applied to mobile, together with Apple's and Google's accessibility guidelines, including support for VoiceOver and TalkBack, system text size, sufficient colour contrast and reduced motion.
  • European Accessibility Act: where it applies to Kidbys' e-commerce features for consumers in the EU, we aim to meet the requirements of the harmonised standard EN 301 549.

3. What we have done

  • Interactive elements in the app carry accessibility labels and states for screen readers.
  • The child's picture-code sign-in uses a fixed set of distinct pictures designed to be rendered as accessible, labelled icons rather than text passwords.
  • We respect the system "reduce motion" setting for animations.
  • Provenance certificates, when available, will be issued as accessible PDFs as well as machine-readable signed files.
  • We write in plain language, and our key policies include short summaries and a section written for children.

4. Known limitations

Because Kidbys is in beta, accessibility is still being tested. Known or likely limitations include:

  • Artwork is created by children and is inherently visual. Agents can add a title, but most artwork does not yet have detailed text descriptions.
  • Some animated celebration screens and introduction videos may not yet offer full text alternatives or captions.
  • Some newer screens have not yet been tested with screen readers on every supported device.

5. Assessment

Status: not yet assessed. ACCESSIBILITY AUDIT — date, method (self-assessment or independent auditor) and result. We will update this statement after our first assessment and at least once a year.

6. Feedback and help

If you have trouble using any part of Kidbys, or need information in a different format, contact us:

  • Email: [email protected] (subject "Accessibility")
  • Post: LEGAL ENTITY NAME, REGISTERED ADDRESS

We aim to reply within ACCESSIBILITY RESPONSE TIME — e.g. 5 business days and will try to provide what you need in an accessible way in the meantime.

7. Enforcement

If you are in the EU and are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the authority responsible for enforcing accessibility requirements in your country.
